Hi all

I'm looking to find some mountain biking closer to home, Bettystown. I certainly won't be deserting MAD but feel the need at times for a more local option.

Has anyone done any MTBing in the Cooleys (Co Louth)? Is there an easygoing bunch of riders up there that anyone knows of. I've emailed Cuchullain - I'm hoping they may have a more laid back MTB section and not just be uber-fit roadies slumming it on the trails for winter.

Hi Ben,

the carlingford marathon champs was in the cooleys last year. Basically all the hills out the back of carlingford. Mix of forestry trails and singletrack, including parts of the Tain way and the longest climb in the world up to some radio towers.
