Anyone got much experience with the Magura Durin 2008? (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=25042)

Might be putting it on my new machine and just wanted to see if anyone has any reviews. Weight? Plushness? Lockout etc... all things I like to know about :)

Hi Ryan,

I have the 100mm version of these. I have not used them all that much but I am impressed by so far. They are very stiff and plush. Though having said that I am normally used to a Marzocchi fork which I find to be rather flexy in comparison.

Set up is easy as there is only one air pressure to worry about and the rebound adjust seems to work, unlike Marzocchi. THe air pressure adjust is quite sensitive as small adjustments produce noticeable changes in how the fork handles/sag.

The dual arch design does not seem to clog up with mud although I have yet to experience very bad conditions. Roll on sunday if the weather stays the same.

The lock out feature is useful as the fork locks at the level of sag currently set up rather that at full extension. I do not have the remote lock-out but the knob on the fork is easy to turn, with a nice click.

The weight as specified was almost spot on, at least according to my kitchen balance.

There seemed to be a few going quite cheaply on EBay recently.

After a Marzocchi Marathon 120mm and and RS Recon 351, this is bar fat the nicest so far.

The R7 is a fair bit lighter though at ~1.25Kg

Yeah - the R7 is my other choice. CRC are not selling the TPC version with Remote Lockout which I would have went for. People in Germany are but I read on some forums that they are not actually shipping them yet.

For me, the choice is betwee the

Durin (1.45kg with lockout)

Pace (1.39kg with lockout)

R7 (1.3kg no lockout)

I love my Pace from last year but I was just trying to look at all the other light ones that are around at the moment. I wish the 2008 Sid was out...
