Can anyone suggest any good places to ride near Rathvilly, Co. Carlow? I'm visiting my in-laws for a couple weeks and could use some help finding some places to ride. Last year I found some trails, I think it was near Mt. Leinster, there were several big windmills at the top, but the area was a little small. Would the Wicklow Mt's be the best spot? It's just a little far from Rathvilly.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Rathvilly?
never heard of it, I honestly don't think there is much in Carlow
Wicklow is definitely worth the trip

Not much down that neck of the woods. However, there is a guy I know from Wexford who was in MAD and used to do some spins around Mt. Leinster - I'll pm you his number. I also remember a thread on the epic (http://www.epicmtb.com)forum ages ago about lads building trails down there but can't find it now, so might be worth throwing up a post there also.
Like Fergal says - if you've got access to a car then a 45min spin up the road will have you in Djouce / Ballinastoe country where you'll be spoilt for choice.
There is lots of cracking singletrack around Mt Leinster.
Myself and a group of mates have been active there for the last couple of years, and generally meet every Sunday morning for a 2-3 hr spin.
Send me a pm and you can join us if you wish, we will gladly show you around.
