Anyone head up to pre-ride the course today? Whats it like? Muddy?

I couldn't make it today so going to head up early-ish tomorrow to have time to check it out.

Muddy in spots but generally very dry. A lot of single track, some of which is new and still grassy/mossy. If it rains much tonight it will turn to slop rapidly, so fingers crossed it stays dry. 5km lap, no long climbs, but a few steep kickers to keep you on your toes. All in all 100% rideable with little or no let up!

no its quite dry actually .. a little schlompy in parts so gonna keep an eye on the forcast ... but nothing like as muddy as kilruddery was

Its a nice course though .. lots and lots of singletrack .. lots of sharp uphill sections in the singletrack though so i found it quite tiring and non stopnothign too dodgy on it though except for one big steep drop .. its rollable but scares the hell out of me so not sure if i'll do it in the race!

Really nice course, hope it stays dry as it was nice and flowing today but can see how it could get a bit messy if it rains to much...

The KML for the course can be downloaded at:-

The trail was very good, technical enough throughout to keep you alert but all rideable, drop is pretty steep but I did it twice today easily enough, if I can do it most can.

Did take longer than I expected to get the course though so anyone doin sports might wana leave early enough.

Just in case anyone is looking for me tomorrow, my knee was trobbing after one practice lap so I'm going to give the race a miss tomorrow, can you let the officials know, thanks. Hopefully I'll be up and running again for Djouce.

Sounds great! Remember our idea of a perfectly square race circuit at Lough Dan? That's the "goos stuff" right there!

Yeah, after the start there are two very small sections to the right and then the left of the fire road, its back onto the fire road for quite a while till you get to the top of the single track so would wana do all your over taking on the fire road because it would be very hard after that.
