Interested in getting back into mtbing after a long break from it and stumbled upon
the site, which has loads of useful info, so thanks. I'm located in South Dublin,
so want to take advantage of living in the foothills.

I'm looking for easy spins (weekends) and wondering if there's anything in the pipeline?
I understand there's a lot of racing going on at the minute, so spins
are few and far between?

Also wondering if my old Trek 4500 would be sufficient until I organised a new bike?

Looking at getting a Specialized Rockhopper or similar at some stage..would that
level of bike stand up to general trail use?

Any pointers would be appreciated! :)

Hi Don, a lot of the lads are busy at the moment with racing all right but I'm not much of a racer myself and there seems to be a lot of new members about so I plan on organising an easy pace spin either Sat or Sunday (have to check what days I'm working).

Your more than welcome to come along, any bike in working order will do, once you have decent brakes and tyres.

Oh and don't forget... no helmet, no cycle.

The rockhopper is a decent bike, I had one for a while and it was very good for the price I liked it alot im not sure about other bikes in that price range though

Thanks for the replies, will keep checking the board for updates alright.

Better get myself a new helmet then, looking at a Giro Animas,
or the Bell Sweep..what's the better of those two?

Need some new pedals too, the old SPDs have seen better days.

Thanks guys

some good deals to be had here, and free postage.

both giro's and bell would be cool, just personal preference really

some great deals on the bell sweeps though, and don't be put off by the 07 or 08 models, 99% of the time all that changes is colours

do get out on the trails, they're bone dry and running sweet!!

Thanks for the link diamondg, good to see Chain Reaction still going and posting here FOC.

The Sweep is only €63 which is about half of what I paid for my last lid.
