Hi

I am hoping to fit in a mid week spin now that the evenings are longer. I am relatively new to mtb and mainly ride Ballinastoe. Although Wicklow may be a bit far to travel midweek. I see alot of treads on Three Rock and the Dublin Mountains and I am wondering if someone could advise me on a good 1-2 hour loop. A map or left\right straight ahead directions as I have not been before. I will come up from the Kildare N7 direction after work so want to keep the driving as short as possible.

Are there good trails at Three Rock or is it more open Mountain - climb and decend. I am open to any suggestions.

Also I am interested in the race events planned here. I have never raced or even attended a race before so I am wondering if there is a novice class or sports class for guys like me who are improving but not yet ready to go Ball Out?

Thanks

ok
first thing - no point in you getting directions to trails as you'll likely never find them - you need to join a club to find all the best trails.
Watch this site for beginner spins

Secondly - check out www.irishxcmtb.com for all your racing needs, calendar etc..
You should start off in Sports category which is generally 2 laps of an approx 5km course

Hey Faro.... a few trails here... more to come over the next few weeks...

http://mtbireland.com/forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=7

most start on the south side of Dublin and go up and over the Dublin mountains.... if you want a short spin just take a road back .... go east and come back in on the Enniskerry road or go West and come back in on the mountain road over the featherbeds....
