View Full Version : stem to borrow?

I'm looking at changing my current stem for one with more raise.

I need to add a bit of height to the bars (my back is in bits after a long spin or race) and I've no room on the steerer tube to raise the stem.

So I was thinking of adding a stem with a greater angle (to raise the bars).

At the moment I have a 120mm stem with 6 degrees rise, so I was looking at trying something of a similiar length, but with more rise.

anyone got a spare stem that might suit that I can borrow for a spin or two?

I just want to see if I'm barking up the right tree before I splash out on one ( a stem that is, not a tree)

Hey Graham,

I have heard (and seen) of a lot of people putting a riser bar on an XC bike. All the lads on XTCs in EPIC have them. Apparently they make the bike feel much more comfortable on descents especially. Talk to OZ/ Damo Mc/Alfie/joey

that'd be great Cormac, the one I have has a very small raise, looking at model on the web, it says 6 degrees.

I'll be out over the weekend, I imagine there will be plenty of spins down at Djouce, prep work

If you out bring it along.

The riser bars are an option too, they would drastically change the look of the canyon, and lets face it, looks count *

* the only exception of course being overshoes, their practicality blinds me to any naffness

though not sure if it's the 6 or 20 deg rise - I'll try have a look tonight

I'd say thats for oversize bars though fergal. The XC canyon _probably_ has normal diameter bars
