Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team is organising another first aid course on the 6/7 June to raise much needed funds - all the details are on www.dwmrt.ie.
For those of you that may not be familiar with mountain rescue - the team is made up of local volunteers who take time out from their own biking, climbing, hiking and hill-running to go help people who are hurt or lost in the hills around Wicklow. All cash raised will help fund expensive things like ropes, stretchers and landrovers.
This REC course is the best entry level outdoor first aid course available and this course will be taught by highly experienced instructors who really know their stuff and will give you lots of practical advice on what to do if someone gets hurt and you're two hours from the road - its well worth attending and great craic, particularly if a few of you do it together.
