just got these in the post today

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=33581

waste of money, so gonna send them back.

They're the new ones with d3o , that stuff that is supposed to be flexible, and then harden on impact.
Cool idea, and maybe it works for knee pads etc, but doesn't really make sense for gloves.

The only bit that has it is the knuckles. I never did understand gloves with protection there, do they think we crash into trees knuckles first..
Anyway, my saddle laughed when I punched it, so they're going back.

€56 for the name, no thanks

and has anyone else noticed the ends of the fingers in 661 gloves are really uncomfortable, big hem in the end of the fingers.. And that's after getting a size bigger than normal.

661 you've been goobered.

Picked up a pair of Troy Lees (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=25223) on sale last week for about 20 squid, they're grand...

Just start wearing those filthy gloves you use for trail building!
They are indestructable, smelly and sweaty.

cool, I'll try the Troy Lee ones Sean, the headline ones look pretty sexy.
What size would you recommend? Large or XL

these have been my favourite gloves up til now, only negative is that the white turns into grey after the irish conditions.. If they have you size, I'd recommend them.

How long is a piece of string? :D
I've got fairly large hands, but the large gloves are just fine - no abnormalities in the sizing from what I can see...

well, all I'll say is thank god the Monster Energy truck driver didn't make a balls of their job and put that fat boy into reverse instead of first gear - now that would have been a pretty significant mistake!

No, which does not make it likely MAD will go on for another 20 years.

jeesus this is almost as bad as the MP3 player topic on IMRAs forum..!!
I've seen that one too - all I could think of was how much the mp3 player would slow you down. Tempted to do a quick energy expended-to-powergel conversion, but thought that would drag it down to another level entirely :D

who hates who after running your event
Have you not heard? We're MAD, the lovey-dovey go on picnics in the countryside type of cycling club. Everyone loves everyone equally.
Such love doesn't extend to those who take off their helmets mid half way up the Col du Ticknock or moan about one-day licence fees though...

Yeah, decided it was time to retire the old ones...they had become more holes than fabric.

Ooh, I'm allowed cycle again too. Slowly, and not for very long or up anything very steep...sooo, wicklow 200 anyone?

feck off somebody moaned about one day licence fees..and I never say plop..
but I would have paid huge moneys to watch Morgan punch somebody in the eye for plopping up some ploppin simple job he gave to some stupid plopper !!

Nah, everyone did their bit yesterday, don't think I've ever been at an event that went so smoothly. There was a huge scrap over the correct way to dismantle a gazebo but apart from that it went like clockwork.

i have to say...in all seriousness..it was amazing to see all the members i would normally see racing in events marshalling and every single one of them had something good to say to the riders..
you guys really did a fantastic job..
you're bollixed ( i can't wait to see what you put in instead of that ] now, i'll be holding you up as examples on how events should be ran...

did you have a saddle to punch, or did you have to take it out on some poor unfortunate racers bike?
