Peaty 1st - that makes 17 wins to beat Voullioz! Hill had a crash/mechanical in the last section. Otherwise he would have had it.

To finish first, first you must finish...

Very true Tom. It's all well and good being insanely quick like Hill but he's not as in control as Peaty. Been watching Peaty in these races and DVD's and one thing has become apparent, you don't need style to be really quick. A lot of the middling guys are doing huge tail whips and railing berms and although it does look deadly, it is not as quick as the far uglier approach Peaty adopts.

Is it just me or does Gracia come across as a fairly arrogant person in all of these interviews and commentaries? I kept that video running to the very end with the prize giving- even our worst attended NPS's would put the podium to shame! Must have only been 50 people in the crowd(although that's probably about half the population of Andorra so not bad..), nobody cheering and everybody got the measlist little bunch of flowers I've ever seen.

I had a look a the frames from the first vid, it is crazy, body and bike twisting all over the place, then he almost looks like he's just riding down the shops but finally he goes!

for you idle computer wizards:

$ youtube-dl -b http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3BfHZzV36o
$ ffmpeg -i K3BfHZzV36o.mp4 -f image2 crash-%04d.jpeg

for those with proper jobs, see some choice frames in the attachments.

the speed of him - that crash looked like a career-terminator, some messy impact - wow, kinda reminds me of the crashes Cormac has....

Up until the last .5 of a second I was sure he was going to save it....

its amazing to see that drop in the freecaster clips. Its off camber, completely blind and a rocky landing if you get it wrong.

All considered, he took it at some speed!!
