View Full Version : DT Swiss Hub - guessing game
Ok computer genii,
I've got DT Swiss hubs, black, 6 bolt on the bike. They date back to around 2007.
I need a new freehub.
Problem is I don't know the model, as I bought them second hand.
There's no marking on them other than the DT Swiss logo.
Can anyone help?

have you tried servicing the freehub? They look quite like ones i have ... think you jsut take off a lock nut and then an end cap and the whole freehub just pops off
Then, assumign you didn't lose any of the little springs jsut clean it all and a dab of light grease/oil and it should be fine.
Paddy
Yeah, have had it apart - its well past its sell-by date unfortunately :(

Looks very like the Cerit. Word on the street is that it is re badged by Giant. Came/comes on a lot of their bikes but I don't think it was ever avialable to buy separately. Give James O Carroll a call, he'll know for sure.
Thanks Steve - that would make a lot of sense...the guy I bought from rode a Giant back then.

they have a good few bits including pawls and springs that are interchangable with the Onyx hub so maybe its a rebadged one of them. Maybe a freehub for that would fit?
Yep, further investigation has revealed that the inards of the Onyx and Cerit hubs are mostly interchangeable.
Bits and pieces now ordered. Hope I don't take my eye out with the pawl springs :)
Thanks guys

They look the same as mine. Some skanky northsider/westie sold me them, and they came off a dodgy Giant too!
But seriously, the cassette on my rear hub wobbles from side to side a bit. Does this mean my freehub is gone too??

Don't be worrying about that boss! Sure that's normal.
