Oisin I have suffered from this, and like you only when I was exerting myself ie; racing and long fast spins. I have since found that building up my core strength has relieved it a lot. Seen as you are in Trinity give the college health centre a ring and book an appointment with the physio, it's only e15 to see her and she seems pretty good.

I have had, and still have the same problem. Fergal recomended a Pilates ball and I have to say it has helped. As TomH said, building up core strength helps too. I still get a stiff back, but only after 5hrs/50kms fast spin, and its not as bad as it was say 6 months ago.

i think that back pain may be caused from too much sitting on your arse in bewley's café on grafton st., because after all, we know that's the only thing a student from trinners does.

Hey Oisin,

Maybe your pregnant? Is it just back pain or are you getting a bit fat? Tough break man...

poor stephen, have you still not hit the certain period of life where the major differences between man and woman become apparent. Seems to me like the 85742 million euro bi-monthly fee for belvedere college is a bit of a waste. Why not ask daddy, mummy or even the butler?

Well usually I can see the difference quite easily. It's just your girlish physique does not elude mascunility. Sorry for the mix up. I hope your lower back pain is not what I fear it is.....

...and there was me thinking the forum would be a dismail failure, you never introduced me to the butler Steve - his name better be Jeeves, and he should know how to use a Dirtworker and a chain cleaner device :-)

...can't wait for the first Experts race of the K-Cap, I'd nearly race Sports just to witness the battle between Fitz-is-he-still-savage? and The Belvo Kid, should make for a good race.

Ok, money where my mouth is - I'll put a fiver on Speed-of-sound Scrivener to win, any mechanicals will void the bet, it has to be a clean race - any takers?

No no, Sports in the K Cap, Masters in the NPS.....maybe. I'm old enough so I might give it a go. You can do my bottles Barry, you only need one hand for that!!

Barrydanzig

*a small charge is required to aid those among us who have recently been subjected to a traumatic experience on the woccas.

Funny... Had the itunes thing on shuffle and "eye of the tiger" came on as I was reading this. Training in the park was good tonight. Fairly quick pace around the race circuit. Intervals for tomorrow I think...
