Just dropped my Epic in oc tuning and he has said that the front fork has died a death and need a new one. I had a fox on it before and he has a set of fox 32rlc for a fairly discounted price but I was wondering what people thought to the reliability of fox forks? Would I be better with a rock shock, Marzocchi etc etc...?
I admit I did not get my shock serviced after a year so that probably contributed towards it but I would have thought they might last a bit longer than a 18 months when the problem started to happen.

i love my fox f80's. got them serviced after a year or so and they worked better than ever, back then tft did say I'd have to replace the stancions next service as there was wear on them then, so I'd probably be better off getting new forks then..
I think fox are deadly, but I'm sure rock shox are just as good..
rumour has it marz are to be avoided at the moment as they are being made in a new factory and have reliability problems..

Another advantage of Fox is that OC Tuning are an official Fox service centre so you can get them service and fixed locally.

Cycle inn do Rock Shox servicing, though it took 2 days and not the one day that OC Tuning manage.
having both Fox and Reba forks .. the Fox ones are nicer and betterer and seem stiffer etc .. but were i paying full cost for both, i'd probably go for the rebas as you could almost get 2 pairs for the price of the Fox. If theres a deal to be had though the Fox would win out

Fox seem to have a reputation for high-performance at the cost of high-maintenance. I've heard loads of cases of the stanchions wearing out.
I've used several recent Rockshox forks (a Reba, a SID and two Revelations) and I've been happy with them. Never used Fox so I could be missing something fantastic though :).
Did he say what exactly was wrong with your fork? I'm curious to see why the whole thing would need replacement.

Yeah thats what a few people have said, rock shock are more durable and a bit cheaper to maintain.
Performance is not my highest priority... I would rather have something that is going to last and not cost as much.
