lidl are doing bike tools and speedos at the moment, I was there today and they actually looked very impresive..
bike tool box for €30 and it includes chain tool, chain whip, lock ring spanner yoke, cone nut spanners, allen keys etc
very good value.
Even for just the chain whip and chain splitter its worth it.
The speedo looks good too, its the one Fergal raved about, less than €30 and it has a heart rate monitor etc

...mine is still working, even after that storm up 3rock - ensure to keep your receipt though - I had to get a replacement wheel magnet for mine
Yup, got the tool kit even though I'd have most items already, handy box to put in the car when out for spins. Was just to order the cheapest bb tool and crank extractor from crc for €23, for an extra €7 you get everything you could need!

I just bought a sportivo helmet at Lidl this weekend ;-P
You can choose between color red and blue and quality seems just good
for an unbeatable price of 30 €...
Just tested out bib shorts and there very comfortable, nicely padded.
Quick query for anyone using the lidl cycle computer (successfully), What value did you put in for wheel size when setting up ?, set mine up on the bike this morning pre spin up 3 rock (skive day off work), had to get home in a hurry so came straight back down the tarmac fireroad, much as I'd like to believe I was doing 60km\h I somehow doubt it :-))

I used to have one o dem, as far as I remember you want the circumfrence of the tyre, in cm's I think.
I actually used a measuring tape, held it onto the tyre and ran it all the way around..

the value of 2100 rings a bell with me - presume its 2100mm, though as Graham said - best to measure the wheel to be sure, run a piece of string around the tyre and measure it off against a tape measure
For anyone who doesn't have the lidl cycle computer don't read on (you'll bore yourself to tears)........
Thanks for the reply , the problem I have is that according to the instructions the wheel size has to be entered in milimeters, so a 26" tyre\wheel is 660 milimeters. The wheel size entry option is 4 digits and the first digit will only accept either a value of "1" or "2" (not "0"). So I'm guessing maybe the values are inches and shoule be 2600 ?, It appears some people are using this piece of kit successfully and so might be abe to provide the correct information, thanks in advance.
Cheers diamondG, didn't read your post closely enough, so it's the circumference they're look for ?, feckin feckers, trying to make me dredge up those horrible leaving cert memories from 20 years ago. Now let me think, circumfrence of a circle is pie r*2, or is that the area of a circle, jayus, where's my log book ?

The value to enter will depend greatly on the tyre you're running and even your tyre pressure.
The only really accurate way to work out the circumference is to do a "roll out". Put a bit of paint or chalk at a point on the tyre, roll it along the ground and measure the distance between the marks left on the ground. Do this a few times to get an average.

I knew it, I knew that was coming, I love that interview.
By the waaayyyy.....
I have checked 3 Lidls so far and all are sold out of the toolkit - if anyone has a Lidl near them, and knows that they have the kit in stock and are willing to part with 30 euro until I see them (at C'wellan on Sunday), I'd surely appreciate ya getting me one of these as they're great value, and you can never have enough tools...
damn but I'm still mad jealous of Morgan's Park Tools apron, I'd deliberately break my bike in order to don that apron and (cluelessly) get to work
while I'm on the subject, I'd like his FortKnox bikeshed, his madly-impressive new bike and that huge monitor in his office, he can keep that Fatty-the-Fireman calendar though....
What about the crazy dogs?

it's a great venue for a meeting for sure, couldn't get Steve off the swings though...
Cheers Morgan, will do as suggested.
There were a good few toolkits left in the Finglas lidle on last Tuesday when I was up there. Might have some left there.
They had lots of bib shorts, pumps and helmets also.

Finglas eh?
I'll wear my best tracksuit - thanks Liam
Fergal, picked up the last toolkit in Deansgrange Lidl last Thurs which can be yours for the princely sum of €30 if you haven't managed to get one !
