no, not as yet, we're still looking for a suitable venue, Slade is being re-considered though we'll need to take a tour of the place to see what work some other mtb heads up there have done recently, 3rock is out of the question unfortunately, Lugalla/POG has been compromised by a big security fence though Morgan will assure you that it is 100% scalable, also there'd be a fair bit of work involved it cleaning the place up, but that'd be the case with most venues.
B'stoe is going to get used by Sorrento I believe so we don't want to duplicate their race....options are scant.....

How about using Kindlestown and maybe extending a few of the tails up there or is that sacred land of another club?

I guess its all down to how far out from Dublin you want to go - Glending/Deerpark near Blessington has potential, as does the Vale of Hollywood (its the one in Wicklow lads, relax with the smart comments!) but that would be stretching it a bit probably...

here Richie are any of those spots good for a spin? (interested in getting out to new places)
I was up in slade over the christmas and it's in rag order. It 'll require a lot of work to get it up and running again

Glending is quite a small loop - and is really only fun on a night spin, but there is potential for someone to get creative and build a nice NPS course. Was out in the vale of Hollywood this morning - lots of steep fireroad! Using the original DH/singletrack thats there you could build something worthwhile - but would require lots of work.
Would it be worth an auld spin around and if so where abouts is it

Lads you won't get Kindlestown..but you could always make a decent xc course in Cloon..and Cloon is easily availed of from Coillte...

Hmmmm... Wouldn't it be nice to link up two tracks between Prince Willies and Cloon? Make a really tech course climbing over the bog of death, down that really tech trail, do a loop of the forest in Pricne Willies (would be very easy to build as the trees are planted with nice big gaps between them) and then over to cloon to do maybe one or two sections of the DH course (possibly the old one as it would be better for linking back into Prince Willies) and then loop back around up to the top of Prince Willies and down again. Will take a look at google earth to see if theres any sense in this.
Could be crazy talk....

the deadlist xc mountainbiker in Ireland might have a suggestion or two for us next weekend, will let ye know, I was on the old Lugalla NPS sections today and they really are excellent, take a detour next time ye are coasting around sunny Clipetown, you will be impressed, REAL xc trails, the worcies sure know their stuff....
But now here this, if we are going to put on a race, it will only be because EVERYONE gets involved.
There's still active club members who as yet haven't lifted a finger to help with any trailbuilding, but still ride the trails the rest of the club and other clubs have built as if they were magically built by trail faeries.
Ye know who ye are, and I'll be knocking on your doors first when it comes to the hard work....
