View Full Version : Bike shop?
Hello,
Can someone recommend a bike shop that rents 29er mountain bikes and is located in the vicinity of the Burlington Hotel, Upper Leson St, Dublin?
Thank you,:)

29ers aren't very popular outside the States - you hardly ever see one on the trials here. I don't think I've ever seen one in a shop. For bike rentals in the city centre, Cycleways (http://www.cycleways.com) would probably be your best bet. I'm not too familiar with what the offer but it's worth calling them before you get here.

I'm afraid Cycleways don't rent mountain bikes.
The bikes they rent are '08 Specialized Globes as far as I know (pictured below)
If you're desparate there is an alternative. Cycleways do give out demo bikes BUT to get one of these you'll have to let them set aside a the cost of the bike in full and when you bring back the bike undamaged then they cancel the transaction. Obvoiusly any damage will be charged for and you pay something like €40 for the use of it (which is taken off the price of the bike when you buy it)
Paul @ http://www.phoenixparkbikehire.com/ has lots of bikes for hire but you have to pick them up from Phoenix Park, however its only bout 20min walk from city centre.
Best give him a ring before hand so he could reserve the bikes for you.
If your looking to go to the wicklow mountains then (I think) Wicklow cycles rent out mountain bikes...

Thanks for the info everyone. :)
