Hi i have my bike about 3 months .I cycle about three times a week .If never had discs before and dont know to much about them. There is a loud grinding noise comeing from the back brake when used. Is this normal or could the pads be gone already. The front one is grand no noise. There cable brakes.

Any help would be great thanks.

The resin pads can wear away very quickly. Have a look at it and see if there is anything left but the backing plate. You can get semi-metalic "sintered" pads that last much longer to replace your worn out ones. Have a google for a guide on setting up your brakes perfect or get a shop to change them.

Defo sounds like your rear pads are worn out. You should get them checked quickly before you destroy your rear disc.
