View Full Version : Adapter for Post Mount fork and IS caliper
MAD Tech Gurus
I am trying (in vain) to find the right adapter to attach an IS caliper (Giant MPH3) to a post-mount fork. Most readily available adapters seem to be t'other way around ie IS fork to post mount caliper?
Any suggestions?

they should be easily available .. the only thing when you have an adapter to go from a post mount fork to an IS one, you need to go up 20mm in disk size
i.e. if you normally run a 160mm disk and change to psot mount forks you need to change to a 180mm disk in order to use the same caliper.
something liek this

(note what is says about marzochi forks though

I'm confused now, If you have a post mount fork does the caliper not just bolt directly onto the fork with no adaptor needed?
I'm pretty sure that's what i did when i got new forks

Boom .. yep it should work fine
Aidan .. in your case you must have had a post mount brake caliper .. for boom above he has an IS mount caliper
That said .. i hitnk most brakes these days are post mount calipers (Avid, Formula, Hope etc)
