....it's a great thing.
After long months of hardtail training and racing hardship, myself and Oisin dusted-off the FR bikes and headed up 3 rock last night.
On the climb up, the shorter stems, additional weight, big fat tyres and awkward cycling position had us wondering what the hell we were doing on these bikes and whether we had gone too far over to the XC side....
But then after a rip down the new (but muddy) DH course that has replaced no-dabs (nice steep slope down onto the fireroad at the end - looked dodgy but the bikes just laughed at it), rock n roll twice (actually feels faster on big bikes!), the lower section of the old club course (well worth a revamp and clean-up) then the top third of the boneshaker, followed by a brand new section (for us) thru the forest halfway down, then back out onto the lower boneshaker and blasting down thru the new gulleys and rocks, we were just stunned at the amount of fun to be had on the big machines.
Get yourself one.
You'll never regret it!
