Except the price I can't seem much of a differnce. Is it that one of them is an old model or?

one has DX written on the resin and the other doesn't, thats about it!

The 647 is a newer design with better mud-clearance (mud can escape through the pedal body).

the actual pedal itself (without the cage) is different - one clears mud easy, the other doesn't

THe M424 are similar to the one I was using tonight, except mine have a metal cage. They clog easily with mud, twigs, stones etc. Quite often very difficult to clip into. Avoid.

I have the M424 and M545. The M545 aren't too bad, similar to the DX, whereas the M424 have a cheap feel with plastic cage and are all-around crap. They're gathering dust (if anyone wants them let me know)

I have the DX ones, M647 I think on the Trance. After a year of abuse and grounding on every rock in Dublin/Wicklow they are scuffed, scratched, but still intact. The resin/plastic platform is tough as boots and clears mud ok too.

Hey Richie,

Cheers for that but I've heard some bad stuff about them so am going to go with the 647's off ebay.

Cheers for the offer though!
