Bottom Bracket - Help please

I'm taking bottom bracket off to replace crank set. The large bottom bracket tool that came with lidl tool kit fits it but not sure weather to turn clockwise or anti-clockwise? So far but move either way. As far as I remember you turn it CCW on drive side, is that correct?

You should'nt neet to take the bottom bracket off to change the cranks. Unless you are changing the bottom bracket too.

If you can imagine this liam, it turns in the same directionas you pedal normally.


So looking at the drive side it would be clockwise and the non drive side would be counter clock wise

I know Conor but I got XT crank set which has different bottom bracket to old one so have to change it, unfortunatley.

PS: got my car working again, new coil pack, whatever that is.


I'm not having much luck with mechanical thing lately. :-)

It's Clockwise on the drive side to loosen and normal anti-clockwise on the non drive side to loosen. With the Lidl tool you can use a ratchet and a wrench to give yourself two points of leverage to slacken it which helps to stop the tool from slipping.
