View Full Version : Sunday Fun Spin - Djouce to powerscourt
Anyone fancy it? I've only done it twice myself and may not remember the way so it would be great to have someone who does.
Usual 10am lower carpark?

I'll probably go , too bad we couldn't get most of the Mad crew out to this .When will the big super fun happy spns ever return ?
What kind of distance/grade/time are we talking about here ?
Its for intermediate riders who don't have race fitness. :-)
Wouldn't suit complete beginers but if you have reasonable fitness and skill you would be fine. Trails in Djouce are fun too but technical enough, its the home of the famous bench cut among others.
Time wise I'd expect to be back in carpark about 13:30 maybe earlier depending on how unfit I am. :-)
Distance I'm not sure of.

If you do some of the trails and then up around ride rock and to ack you are probably talking about 15-25km which is a nice cycle.

yup the proposed route :- Djouce - XTC - Als Drive - Canyon - Benchcut - Stream Crosing - Powercourt - Ride Rock - Ack - Djouce - Car - its works out at about 26km as Ollie said..
;-)
Phil I think you'll be grand!

while you're there you may aswell test yourself on GC...sure there's only a rather large penalty for failure.

gc is the bit that runs alongside the river then drops back out onto the fireroad very near the bottom
Stream crossing... I'd better bring me waterproof socks.

Djouce Djouce Djouce
the place just gets better and better
I was up there last night, it has to be my favourite spot, the trails are just class.
They're bone dry and running really fast, lots a drifting around corners.
And that one after xtc, the off camber one from the Djouce Callenge is really good at speed! Maybe trails where you're not 100% about what's around the corner are better, more buzzzz
Oh lads, I might be tad slow tomorrow, we did two and a half laps of Kindlestown then across to GOTD for another two and a half laps, I'm nackered.
Still going tomorrow though, love Djouce, everyone else still up for it?
