View Full Version : Cycle short & trousers
I've been looking for a good pair of cycle trousers that will do me well in the rain and keep me warm, preferably not too expensive. Any suggestions??

Richie Close got some nice Endura ones, though were probably a bit expensive - they looked pretty good quality though, drop him a mail

trousers are not great to cycle in! why not get a pair of 3/4 length tights and a pair of baggys for over them! so when summer comes you can use the baggies and store the 3/4 for next winter!

If it smore full lenght tight things you're looking for then i'd recommend these ones

They are really warm though so there's a huge gap between wearing these and just wearing shorts .. some 3/4 length things might be good for that inbetween weather
Knee warmers and leg warmers are great - really flexible. I'm out in all sorts of weather and those are the only things I use (for my legs...). If it's for commuting - they may not be the best ;)

This is the pair I have - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=19051 - I found them to be pretty good - They are the kinda thing you'd wear on a longer summer spin with a chance of being caught in a shower (I do have logical behind this statement!) Over the winter though I found myself going back to the tights and shorts combo - comfort and coolness combined into an awesome keeping-legs-warm-solution :-)

i have these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=9287 for under my shorts in the winter and they are the beez kneez, quite affordable too.
Cheers lads, tights with shorts seems to be the way to go allright, all though I probably wont wear them round my local area. Might wait till next winter to invest in some over trousers.
Yeah a one piece suit is pretty good for winter, they keep your back and kidneys warm on the cold long spins which really helps, I usually throw a pair of baggies over it to keep it real...I got a decent Altura one-piece in Cycleogical for less than e80 I think..
As for trousers, do you mean leggings?..As you really don't want trousers for mtb, but maybe you could want them for commuting?...
