Well that was a bit of a sureal cycle home from the race today, thought I'd wandered on to the set of a David Lynch film.

Cycling down the road towards Stepaside at a good ol' pace when a deer jumps out on to the road about 20 feet ahead and hops in to the field on the far side. I'm thinking where there's one there's more so I slow down expecting a few more to hop out. Then the same deer hops back out 30 feet further on right in front of a car that smacks in to him and drives on !!!!!!

So the deer is in the middle of the road, clearly injured, tries to get up a few times but falls back down every time he tries, then he stays down..............

So I get off the bike and wander over to him and pat him on the neck a few times, thinking "poor little bambi, not long for this life, just drawing his final breaths"......

Then I'm thinking "Any local butchers open on a Sunday, and how much room do I have in the freezer"

Then the little fecker hops up and legs it......

Looks like it's still Spam for the rest of the month :(

That's nuts. I saw one doe flying around up at t-connector and then later on a whopper of a deer bounding past after someone went through on the bike. Hadn't seen deer up there before.

They must have read the course description and came along to check out the deadly singletrack :)

My missuseses parents knocked one down in France, they rang the gendarme who told them if it was dead it was theirs. They had free venison for months.

myself and Zelwegger I think it was raced a herd of the skinny fecks down the mid part of the boneshaker some time back
there was a gang of them, young wans and a few parents, just mooching around looking cute, then myself and Rene came bursting down the trail on the big bikes, full on gnar-pace and pulling the schkids and frightened the bejimminies out of them - they scattered but all ran down the boneshaker in a pack, I overtook one or two of them before they dropped me ...
