howdy lads,
only spins scheduled by official MAD spin leaders will be posted on the MAD events calendar
the forum is the ideal place to organise inpromptu spins between whatever members want to go out on any particular evening

I'll be there at some stage too, need to drop stuff off & pick stuff up and get some kind of a spin in too...
hey Tom, can you check to see if you've any of my bike-porn DVDs?
missing a few but not sure who I loaned them to, if you find 'em can you bring them along to Taylors?
cheers

good spin tonight lads, sorry about the jungle warfare section, at least now we know what's going on in there...
I had to go back up for a 2nd shot at the boneshaker I enjoyed it so much
young Ciaran is fairly flying these days - once he stops talking, then he starts talking and it's like magic brakes are applied, then he stops talking and he's flying again - I was well impressed with his skills on the techy rocky stuff, he's been practicing....good man Ciaran
Phil was forced into getting acquainted with his new pedals very quickly - you'll be at one with your bike in no time Phil....I have to see those bloody-cheeked photos!
Tom was flying along without a bother, as was Ron, nice one lads, 3rock - it's no Ballinastoe!
It was great stuff tonight Fergal...finally got the hang of the pedals with a lot less pain than expected! And yeah, about the shortcomings of having a small garden ha ha I can give you some help on weekends when I'm too exhausted to do the boneshaker one last time!
We were talking tonight about if we did a trip abroad it would be good to have access to some guide knowledge about the local trails. I have some mates going to Les Arcs in France and came across a web site that does just that, as well as the full package. Has anyone at M.A.D come across:

I like the sound of the H.E.I.D.I!
Introduced in 2006, the acclaimed High Exposure Isère Descent Itinerary is a 60km long, all off-road, 80% singletrack route descending from the Col de l'Iseran at 2764m (Europe's highest road pass, situated above Val d'Isère) right down to the Isère Valley base at 800m.
Jesus lads I'm broken.
Think I need to rest my knee before getting back on the bike... hopefully will be fighting fit for Saturday...unfortunately you can't see my war paint in the photo..

ah, you're just a bit battered Phil, never broken, hopefully your knee gets better fast!
What happened your knee Phil?
In a dramatic failure to unclip I landed flat onto a rock with my knee, to be honest its not bad at all, just sore. I suspect my ego is bruised more than my knee. Should be grand for Saturdays spin just needs rest.
Had a look at that link Ron sent, some savage looking routes up there, isnt that normally ski country ??
Yeah, its got lifts to the top an everything...although it's not all downhill with plenty of climbs thrown in. I'm looking at going maybe for long weekend around 8-11th August if anyone is interested?

Hmm just realised I have one nasty gash on me knee .... Well I skipped a shower last nite though.
Ron, had a look at flights from Dublin to Geneva, they are a bit to expensive for a long weekend for my liking\budget.
a 2nd run on the boneshaker eh? you didn't happen to find out how that car got in there?? a good run had by all and great weather to go with it. hopefully more of the same for sundays race

The club race on Wed has thrown a spanner in the regular tuesday thing, not sure about the other lads but I will be taken it handy tomorrow after getting in a sneaky spin tonight.

A student ? We cant vote , we can't drink and most of all we are POOR.

Sounds like a pretty carefree life to me...
Can't vote but you can always march/protest/petition and drinking isn't something you should look forward to. It aint anything special. And you may be poor but at least you don't have to work every hour god sends and pays lots of bills.
... rant over.
