but hey - you beat Oscar by a decent margin, on a highly technical course as it was I thought Oz would have had you....fair play
and you beat your neighbour Mr Daly too....
next race I'd like to see you beat Andy and Noel please.....

Number 13 - unlucky for some. And look at Mr. Downey in Experts - 13th after a long time away. Richie was a real worry in Masters - that road bike has made him a new man. Good thing he had a wardrobe malfunction.
Are you stuck in Elites now?

MAD are deadly. Lost count of how many racers there were there. And the improvement in people is brilliant to see. I remember when there was a decent gap between the newer members and myself, been cut down to well under 10 mins now! Well done lads. Special congrats to Fergal and his elite debut, he can only become savage-er from now!

that was my first and only excursion to that world - it's a grim amount of effort to come last, feck that, time for some fun and easy Freeride.....

Yeah Morgan, lucky for you I'm still figuring out how to use Allen keys...
BTW, is anyone else still coughing up dust or is it just me?
Class day, well done to everyone and congrats to epic for organising a great event, I'm still coughing up pine needles and dust and if there was a best dressed team award I reckon we would have kicked everyones asses with the new jerseys... man were we slick looking!!!

Hey Cormac, wherever you are,
What was that site where you got those bling wheels again?
Cormac

Steve,
It is www.justridingalong.co.uk

Thanks for that Cormac. Really cool site! Can have a sub 1500g wheelset for 400e! I wonder how durable they are...

THey are tough enough, survived yesterdays off course excursions. Just don't go putting them on the Reign. Check out www.wheelpro.co.uk for a summary of the different rims.
Super super race yesterday, wonderfully tough reintroduction to racing. Thought I'd lost my nerve after crashing on the bad shoulder in practice, but delighted that I got through it. Thanks to Shane for doing the bottles, and to the spectators for the encouragement...the photos look great on the first big outing for the new club gear.
BBQ afterwards was a great idea too...

yeah - great turnout and great support from the club - a damn fine race circuit indeed, thanks to the lads who did the cooking and Conor and Aine for bringing all the extras!

That was a brilliant race. Really enjoyed the course. Could dice with people on those sketchy descents. Thanks to Aine and Martha for the shouts of encouragement, they really are appreciated even though the expressions of pain suggest otherwise! Thanks to Shane for bottles too! This sounds like an Oscar acceptance speech!
@Cormac- That site is brilliant, was wondering what the craic was with all the different types. Do you have to buy the rim strips or can you just throw a tubeless tyre on and you're away? Which rims did you go with?
Would people still ride with me if I got Hope Pro II hubs? They are the same one as Robins'. i.e- REALLY loud freehub...

Only if you supply ear plugs...

You can quieten a Pro II by adding a little extra grease to the pawls in the freehub. It is amazingly simple to do, I pulled mine apart by accident while taking the cassette off.
I have those hubs and they are the dogs proverbials ( sorry Morgan )
They are also great for intimidating people you are stuck behind on descents into making mistakes with the racket they make.

I'm only jealous - the only way I could intimidate people in a similar (and cheaper way) would be to carry one of these yokes with me...

Exactly the same effect!

Its decided so! Like a nice clicky noise. Might drown out the sound of beeping Garmins on spins!
