I've been moved home from Scotland for five glorious months now and I'm still crashing with my parents. Do you know how hard it is to find a room to rent if you own a bike or two? Apparently they don't make garages anymore.

"Ah sure just lean your two grand's worth of bike up against the wall in the back garden, it'll be fine."

I can't be the only one having this problem! I hope not anyway.

The solution, I reckon, is to live with other people who like bikes too and would be cool with keeping them securely indoors. I'm not talking about performing open bike surgery on the kitchen table or leaning them against the TV whilst everyone else is trying to watch Mad Men or something. Just y'know, keeping them somewhere out of the way, but safe.

So yeah, if any of you find yourselves in the same situation over the next while and would be up for getting a place together, send me a PM. Don't really mind what area, but within pedalling distance of 3Rock would be nice. I'm no Nigella in the kitchen but I know how to work a dishwasher! :)

**** Don't panic, I have a dirtworker!

Persistence is the key - my missus used to moan about one bike being kept in the spare room. Eventually she came around to seeing that washing it in the shower was a good idea, though admittedly a house with a gaden tap will make your live a little easier

I train on a turbo trainer in my living room! (when my flatmate is out, which happens quite often)
I might be looking for something soon though, I'll let you know if that's a case

Ah cool, Agata. If you do end up looking for somewhere new, gimme a shout. No worries at all if you decide to stay where you are! In the mean time, I will continue The Great Flat Hunt of 2010. :)
