Hey,

I'm looking for some cheap as chip wheels for a single speed conversion of an ancient raleigh mtb I'm attempting. The original rear wheel has a thread-on freewheel and hub (thank god for Sheldon's website or I'd never have known this), so conversion is awkward. Newer wheels would be nice too. Anyone got any auld yokes, maybe around 50 quid ? I don't strictly need a new front wheel, but it would be nice.

If anyone has an old saddle, v-brakes, spd pedals, I'd be interested in those too ! Save me the postage from ebay.

Cheers,

Gav

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=3760 - 30euro- Good condition

Have a Sun V brake rim on Deore disc hub front wheel. Needs bearings in the front (they are the ball bearing type and fell out some time ago) Otherwise good condition and true though. 25euro

Have another back wheel. Bit of a cheap one that could do with a true up. Will throw it in if you buy the other two.

i know, but the wheels are awesome, if he wants a solid set then he knows where to look.

Cheers Barry, but I'm really trying to scrimp and save on this. When I start trying to figure out how much tuna I need to buy to last the month in order to save money for wheels, I know I've gone too far.

Scrivo, don't suppose there is a cassette on the rear wheel ?

There is indeed Gav! Can give you a choice of cassettes in 8 and 9 speed formats.

Ok cool, How's about 50 for the lot + two cassettes (spare spacers handy!) ?

Call it 55e including the two cassettes and you have a deal.

That was bad, I should have said 45 for the lot, then gone with 50. I'll remember for next time.

Ok so, 55 is grand! Want to drop me an email to arrange collection? thecrapbot@gmail.com.

I'm in Dundrum and work in DCU so if either of those are handy.. Or along the luas line too. Failing that I can get a lift at some point
