To celebrate me getting better from being sick, work returning to more regular hours and the return of summer (please!) I'm going on a big spin this Saturday.

Starting 10am at Taylors, I'll be taking the usual route to Djouce (wocas, prince willies, crone etc), and if the legs and supplies are up to it onto Ballinastoe - back then by the road.

It'll be long one (5ish hours), steady pace and few stops - stick a post up if interested.

oi!

Close-lad!

I heard some very upsetting words mentioned in conjunction with your name, actually one word "track".

Worse still it came from a WORCie, something you would like to tell the group Richie?

Either you own-up now or I find out the full story and release it to the public/press/hounds.

Cormac

it's not suprising. He has been corrupted my Morgan and Ollie

Richie
10-07-2008, 09:21 AM
WHAAA?!?!?

Let me just state publicly the only time I ever use the word 'track' is in relation to pumps...

And I don't know any WORCie's that well, I swear!

Must be a case of mistaken identity...

So who is up for Saturday then (better clarify its a mountain biking event). Weather is looking ok. There is a small chance I might be working, but will do my best to weasel outta that.

I'm away for the weekend, so wont make it.

There was also rumours of the words SKIN and SUIT mentioned in conjunction with Richie!

Phil

and something about always having sweeties in the saddle bag

Richie
10-07-2008, 12:36 PM
ha! Got ye there - I don't have a saddle bag... I store the sweeties somewhere else...

What's all this about - beat up Richie day?

Cormac
10-07-2008, 12:41 PM
yes, although you must have done something to deserve it

Well as long as Richie wont spend the day chasing poor innocent children and animals to give sweets from his magical pocket. I think I will join you in a spin over in that direction.

Phil

Yes, despite all the rumours about Richies character I am very keen on this spin.

Cormac

With both Riche and Ollie in attendance, I assume saturday has turned into a nice a road spin?

You can speak Mr Cormac, I see you quite regularly committing the ultimate sin riding your mountain bike on the road round the park. Have you not heard of single track and the mountains.

Cormac

Phil

What sort of time do you think you will be getting into Djouce as I'm doing the 5 mile Adidas run at Phoenix Park in the morning. Was thinking about popping by Djouce or Ballinastoe after the run.

Richie

Providing I get out of bed, should take a couple of hours... say 12ish

Great spin today. Weather held out, and any drizzle was no match for the MAD light rain jackets. Met Ron in Djouce and did a few of the trails around there before heading back home on the road.

On the drop from Prince Willies to the road, we met about 30 walkers working on the trail through the cut forest. Its amazing what they've done up there - moving monster boulders about and creating a 200 metre long rock garden! Would defo be fun on a bigish bike and taken at a decent speed. The walkers were a friendly bunch and I think we only got 1 or 2 dirty looks.

Phil txt me your email and I'll send on the route to ya - 085 1715571

They're probably Mountain Meitheal heads - fair play to them, I'd like a rip on that...

Phil
