As some of ye know, I did a little bit of mountain biking while on holiday last week in the US. I went to the Killington Mountain bike park in Vermont which is 3hrs north west of Boston. I have to recommend it for a detour to anybody in the area on holidays.
The parks main use is as a ski resort in the winter and is tryin to actract people during the summer. It contains 45 miles of trails over a 1700 foot drop serviced by a gondola, which gets rid of nasty climbing. The man made and natural trails were graded á la, a ski resort and ranged from pure downhill DO NOT ENTER stuff to very good fast single track on the lower trails.

I rented a 08 Kona Coilair Delux (which is a freeride/enduro, according to the website!)at the park and got a 2 ride gondola ticket for $60,$85 for the full day. Ended up doing 4 decents for no extra cost, of the some of the best moutain biking i have riden. (Limited experiance that i have...) Took 2 stop start decents with my better half down the easy graded trails which was very fast in places.
Did 2 mid range decents on my own after that which were absolutly brilliant,i dont know if i could have handled any harder ones. My hands were stuck in a rigor mortis like grip after that and couldn't take much more. It was a deadly buzz to be on a full 6inch sus, as im used to a hardtail.
Liked it so much that i bought a second hand 06 Coiler while i was over there!
Anyhow, enough waffling from me
Really was good though
