I used to think these were a great idea (there are other similar sites and even applications for Facebook etc. for doing the same thing) but then I thought more about it... for a lot of MTB trails that have been carefully built and maintained by clubs for club members to ride do you then really want just anybody who looks at these sites turning up and riding them and most likely not contributing to their upkeep?
I know its great to publicise and promote the sport and that's what trails like Ballinastoe are great for, but I think that smaller, more private trails built and ridden by members of local clubs should be advertised for club members but not necessarily to any Joe Soap. Become a club member or head along on some club spins and then you will learn where the trails are, and hopefully be inspired to help trail building and repair once you get to know the people who've built them.
What do people think?

well, I think ye know what boat I'm in, I completely agree with Oisin,
our trail network will never grow significantly if we don't have people willing to help build the trails, and that includes non-club members.
We'll do ourselves an injustice by freely advertising our hard-built trails to those who'll simply ride them and not think twice about the effort taken to build them
Here here.
I also don't like the way they include Ireland under UK link.

I think its pretty cool. Go on, find everybodies trails and ride 'em. Just don't put up any MAD trails or any trails we ride and we're away!

great idea for legal trails but with the amount of hand crafted outlaw trails ridden to death by non contributing goobers its a bad idea adverticsing them.

Oh common it is not that bad to share some knowledge with others bikers, i think is very good idea, im not saying that you need to show all trials but even if do you think it is go be crusades to that places ???? don't think so , also i agree with Liam

trust me, if we started putting up maps to all the trails we've built, they'd be over ran in no time. Join a club, thats the best way to learn the trails, at least that way theres some chance people will have some respect for the trail builders. And get involved in trail building.
Come back to me when you're 20 years doing it
As a relative beginner, I have to agree with Ned above. I joined MAD to (try and) get out on new trails. I always wondered where the trails were and how built them. Respect to all those that put in the hours.

Of course that i agree with it, have respect for trial builders but if you know where top go you will find it anyway.

Steve, I thought you young lads know all the hip-terms, like, keeping it real, means.....errr.....like....errr..... you know, stuff that is real, like not imaginary, keep it that way...?
god I'm all confused now - where's Morgan - if anyone knows hip talk it's Morgan...

I think I saw Morgan the other night. He was looking pretty "fly" hanging with "homeies" outside My Gift. I cannot be certain but I am pretty sure all of their staionary, gift wrap and confectionery needs were being well catered for.
We should have a team relay thing based on where you live! That'd be cool.. Morgan and Paddy Daly, Paddy and Mick, Barry and Oisin, Oisin B and a sheep, Dave and Nigel, Mark and Martin. You're basically Castleknock right Fergal ?

at his age i'd say the only hip talk morgan knows is that of replacements!
