Well done to Ryan for taking 2nd place in the National Hillclimb Championships at the Mamore Gap in Donegal today.

His time of 8:50mins was 7 seconds off the winning time, (set by pro roadie Dave McCann?) aided by his weight-weenied bike (this thing really is rediculously light!)

feckin' great result Ryan - are you really human?

no - really?

would a cyborg know it was a cyborg if it hung around with humans all day?

hmmm...these are questions you need to be asking yourselves kiddies....

And then he follows it up with a win in the marathon champs today.

The climb was 1.88km long. several small descents but you climbed 250 meters!

It's the toughest climb I have seen in Ireland! Oh, and there was a huge headwind and it was pouring too. Savage does not describe it - I callapsed afterwards!

The last 350 meters was a 19% gradient!

Oh, my time was 8:50 for the climb. I'll have nightmares about it for a while to come!

I'll write something about the marathon tomorrow - my legs are still sore!

Well done Ryan - that sounds like a grim task. I have a nice 11-28 cassette you can borrow next time. Oh, your bar tape is a disgrace.

lol - the bar tape give the bike some character - shows the many miles that I had to do ;)

Yeah - I have new tape bought for it a long time ago, just have not gotten around to switching.

A 28 on the rear would have been great - I should have really done the math, 1.8km, 250 vert => steep ass climb.
