I'm converting the wheels on my Cotic to tubeless - should I get UST tyres or will I get away with the existing non-tubeless ones?

Depends what tyres they are? I had the side walls go on my nobbly nics in about a month. Moved to UST and they were find on the stans kit which is essentially the same.

you can just use normal tyres. It is a bit hit and miss depending on the brand.

UST tyres work much better (easier to seal)

yup depends on the tire! as ollie said! I tried nobby nics on the old wheels and could never even get them to inflate! I think Maxxis tires work better for Ghetto! kiwi Steve could not panaracers to inflate with ghetto too!

I find wire beaded tyres work better than regular foldable ones for ghetto. UST are the best though

Sorry... thought there was going to be a question for north-siders.

I favour the BMX tubes to the kits - cheaper, effective, thinner thus easier to mount the tyre, though tighter fit = easier inflation

On serious note... I used the Joe conversion kit which actually worked fine but the wheel liner is a little thick and sticks out of edge of the rim which makes it leak air sometimes, i.e. when landing from jumps.

I used ust tyres which were tight enough to allow me to inflate but luckily enough they were relatively easy to put on. Just a couple of mm tighter and it would have been very tough though.
