worth bearing in mind that house insurance typically does not cover your bike outside of the house, unless specified, and will only cover your bike up to a certain price if stolen from your house/shed, with bike prices running into the several thousands of euro, this offer makes even more sense

ok, another idea - I might ring these guys and try bargain a price - though I need definite numbers of who would take out a policy - let me know and I'll start the negotiations - if we could get the 125euro knocked down to 100 that'd be pretty good :-)

I'd be interested in this, but just one question. It says to purchase the insurance at the same time as renewing your license. My license has already been renewed( just waiting to get it ) so can I still get the insurance?

yeah, I reckon so Conor, but I'll call them the week after next (I'll be away next week) and ask all the questions so keep 'em coming in

Fergal,
I would also be interested. Can you get hold of a policy to see exactly what is covered, ie theft from a car etc.

As with everything with CI, its very light on details...

I'd like to see the details. For instance it says "damage to cycles when competing and training" - so does this mean if I snap a mech on a spin the insurance covers it? I doubt it. An X0 mech costs more than the insurance premium. I would like to see the exact details.
Sounds good for covering theft though. I'll email the insurance brokers and hopefully get a copy of the full policy details which I'll post up here.

No reply after a couple of days from my email requesting more information from the insurance company. I'll ring them when I get a chance.
Cycling Ireland are involved so no surprises there.

They sent me the policy wording. Doesn't give much detail though.
