If you want to save some cash you should look into buying a full groupset which includes brakes, all drivetrain stuff and some other bits instead of buying every part separately. For instance the full Shimano Saint groupset which is aimed at DH bikes. I recently bought a full Shimano XT groupset including wheels for a bike I'm building and saved a fortune over buying all the stuff separately. Good deals from http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/. You'll still need to get some of the bits like bars, pedals, grips etc. separately though.

If you need grips I can let you have these:

I ordered two sets because I'm extremely intelligent and foresaw just such an occurrence!

michael,
jsut make sure the front wheel has the right axle type for your forks. I assume the forks are 20mm bolt through so make sure the front wheel isn't a QR one.

Looked up that site Oisin and it seems fairly good. The saint groupset seems to be a great deal at 343yo yos for brakes, wheels and rear mech.

Did everything work out grand for you with that order?

For what it's worth - I've found Merlin very efficient to deal with. If they're building the wheels to order it can take a few days though. Build quality is first rate.

Yeah order arrived without a hitch. I had to pay £20 for postage though but that was for wheels and the full groupset so it was a large box. Still worked out good value.

Ive just got an order together for crc that will complete my dream bike ( well i would like fox 40s and deemax rims but im not made of money) and have 1 or 2 questions.
Im looking at getting the wtb saddle below and was wondering would it fit the specialized seatpost?

Going to get a sram dh cassette, I presume that will work grand with a shimano saint derailer?

I apologise in advance if they are stoopid questions ;-)
Thanks
