Is anyone thinking of goign up on Friday and staying the night?
September 18th, 2006 at 1:22 pm
I had thought of doing that originally but Carlingford is not actually that far - I’ll get a better nights sleep in my own bed
I’m looking forward to this - should be savage.

nonsense, don’t you know there’s a beginners spin on Sunday to be tending to…….
There’s 16km between my house and Ticknock on Sunday morning. I’m expecting them to be the longest, hardest, slowest 16km of my life,

“i can lift 2 others…”
ooh Tom you’re so strong, I just go weak at the knees at the thought of those muscles……
Does anybody want to go organising a bigger spin for Sunday?

sean,this is a very worrying development…very worrying

that’s the last time I’m gonna get caught-out by the squishy bogs and about 324 stream crossings (although those stream crossings were a whole lot of fun)

…they’re expensive but I think they are gonna be worth it, and when my MAD winter jacket arives - I’ll be impregnable to cold and water - roll-on winter!!!

Sean was wishing for a pair of Sealskinz shorts after his encounter with a waist deep boghole.
I think I might get a pair of those myself.

Fergal, you’ve got above and below covered with a jacket and socks - you’ll need some cool MAD thermal bibtights to cover up the bit in between!

anyone would think you were getting a commission Sean…..hmmmm
September 25th, 2006 at 12:31 pm
No, I’m just trying to get some orders in…….has everybody forgotten how bleak the winters get here?
Judging by the amount of stuff not being ordered, you’d think we’re living in California…..The Marathons on Saturday was relatively sunny compared to a nice December day

I have been using the Seal Skins for a while and they are great. The only problem is that when it’s really really really wet and the water gets in over the top they don’t let the water escape. I have emptied out about half a liter from each sock before. Having said that, buy them - they keep your feet warm
September 25th, 2006 at 1:49 pm
…but that’s not necessarily a bad thing Ryan - right? ..like when you have run out of water 10km before the next feed point at the marathon champs, and you’re mad thirsty, and there’s half a litre of water in each sock….y’know…
September 25th, 2006 at 3:00 pm
I guess so…
I rather using the water from one of the 324 streams that I crossed though…
Filled up one of my water bottles with river water about 25 minutes before Feed Station 3. I have had no ill effects
