forgot to add that handlebar-moustaches (like the lively lads have in the picture) are optional, though you will be frowned upon if you aren’t see without a dry Sherry or a vintage Port in your hand…

Does this mean I have to ditch my bibshorts in favour of some snazzy trousers?
blasphemy!!!
October 2nd, 2006 at 4:18 pm
you can wear the bibshorts sean, but be warned you could attract some unwanted attention from other people who ride around in spandex, sweat profusely and get all muddy…the noticeable difference beteween us and them being the absence of bikes, or any sporting apparaus for that matter…as for the LASH i shall be there and for once i wont be languishing around the back, let there be no faffing around either;)

“The MAD Lash - time for the Lycra to come off !!”
But the last time my Lycra came off (in public) there was disastrous consequences…..

Anybody else finding Seans posts a little more disturbing for each one he posts? Lots of emmmmm…. Imagery used. I think would be the way to say it!
October 3rd, 2006 at 3:49 pm
Yeah, I did!
Sean - you spooked poor Tom last week, (now you have him at it - just look at that scary post of his above!)and now you have myself and Steve rattled!
Morgan - I thought you were supposed to moderate these comments to prevent alienation within the group!!!

I have to send my rear shock over to the UK for warranty repair so no biking for me for a while…..
October 4th, 2006 at 9:17 am
Sending it to MOJO? Overnight it and they will send it back the same day. Give them a call and they will sort you out. It took 3 days all in to get my shock fixed when I had to do that.
October 4th, 2006 at 9:29 am
Will do - is it much of a hassle to remove a shock? assume I remove all the air from it via the valve and then just dissasemble - anything I need to be wary of? - thanks Ryan
October 4th, 2006 at 11:21 am
I had to do this with my stumpjumper fsr.
I just depressurised the shock then removed it from the bike - simple operation, just have something to support the two parts of the frame as you take the shock out or it gets annoying.
I suggest removing the all the washers from the shock (there were two wedged in tight to the shock I almost didn’t see) before sending it off to mojo.
Wonder how many of these failed..?

what happened to the shock Fergal K?
October 5th, 2006 at 7:59 am
well now, let me tell you…..a long time ago in a land far far away, there lived an evil being known across the lands as the Shock Monster! This monster loved the taste of Fox shocks and……err..hang on, no it wasn’t that, I did the drop up in Barnaslingan forest (the one in the forest after u come down from Cattys) and landed it just fine, but right after I saw oil fizzing from the compression lever area so assume a seal must have blown or something, the bike was riding like a big lump of jelly afterwards - boingy-boingy, bouncey-bouncey!
Luckily it’s still under warranty so it’s off to the UK for repair tomorrow, even luckier Steve says he has a shock that might do me until I get the other one back - thanks Steve!

Well that was good fun - great to see so many out. Where did y’all head after the pub?
We should do things like that more often.

yep that was really great craic, seemed like everyone in MAD turned out for it, great choice of the Gaiety afterwards whoever picked it (sexy Tom maybe?), plenty of laughs and drinking done, we are the best club in the country, no doubt about it!!
October 9th, 2006 at 7:20 am
I’m dying i’m dying……deadly night out, i was buggered sunday morning and i had to drive down the country….how was the Blast course, did anyone make it out of their bed???
October 9th, 2006 at 8:35 am
Mark - it was like an NPS! There were loads of people out - 20+ of us hammering down the Blast course (after one TOUGH climb up)
You should see the amount of muck on my gear - kinda like a brown suit of armour, but it can wait until I get back from hols to wash it, lift-off to Prague commencing in 6 hours and counting…
October 9th, 2006 at 9:33 am
I was not happy on sunday morning i can tell you … the deamons in my brain had pick-axes and pnuematic drills and other noisy and painful instruments. Still, its amazing how you forget about the hangover once you start a killer climb in the pouring rain and misery that was sunday.
Good muddy fun on the way back down though, but i could have done wihtout the rain at the end while unpacking.
Whens round 2 of the MAD Lash happening. Did anyone make an updated league table? Young (Old) Tom gets 1 point and the rest of us get none!!
October 9th, 2006 at 12:44 pm
Hi guys!!
Well that was fun!! Tho I’m not quite sure I should have drank that much… hmm, all I can say is I’m glad I didn’t go for that ride on Sunday as there was no way I was going to make it out of bed.. a little tired after the Sat ride and the Lash!
Roll on The Lash round 2
October 10th, 2006 at 10:11 am
Yeah it was a great laugh, it was good to see so many of us out(of it!) on sat, i think the MAD LASH could become an important part of the clubs activities!just for the record i think its best if only girls refer to me as sexy tom, anyone stumbling upon the site for the first time could get scared off:)..by the way i lost a 7inch diameter gold medallion on a neckchain in the gaiety, if anyone found it let me know…as for sunday, well it was not my best performance, but at my age it gets harder
October 11th, 2006 at 9:01 pm
indeed - good point Tom, I leave that kind of talk up to the ladies
