I normally wear a bandana, which I fold into a head band and that covers my ears when it's not too cold or I wear it open as normal when it's a little colder, still keeps my ears warm but I know I'm not going to over heat. I agree with Tom, the venting is nice, which you can get with the bandada too as it's quite light! And it's a lot cheeper than €25!! Cold ears are the worst! We did do a bit of carrying every now and again, and a couple of minutes of pushing our bikes, but the weather was good to us and the scenery was fab.
