Ok guys, sounds good! As a provisional date, i say we head up this Saturday, fairly early and session the hell out of that Cloon course. Epic are having their NPS on the 28th so I reckon if we do some good training on the course, we might be able to show them that we are THE PREMIER CLUB, for all disciplines. Full lycra MAD kit compulsary for the race though ;)

So everybody keep this Saturday clear!

The DH over in Cloon is great. I did the course on both my XC bike and the Enduro and it's a lot of fun. Any of your bikes would be fit for it. Just go around the gap jumps :) (I will be) If you want to race - it's best to go out there and have a few sessions on the course first. In the actual race you'll be pushing yourself down the course faster then you thought possible.

The Sport DH class would be good too as an intro... You probably wont come last :)

"One for the budding racers trying to get their fitness and stamina up." ... now sean, thats exactly what it was .. for those wishing to get into the racing and to improve their performance and stamina etc. And thats exactly what it will have done.

No where did it specify, "for people who have being doing lots of secret training spins wihtout telling anyone else about them"

;-)

And i'll finish wiht a little jibe about how some of them descents had far too little speed and far too many stops for my liking!

That was the best weather yesterday I've mountainbiked in for a good while. It was a great spin - good distance and loads of decent off-road.

About the DH - I'd be on for giving it a go. Hopefully my bike will survive the abuse though.

I'd love a DH race Steve when I get back, I have a route or two in mind up 3 rock, and I hear Cloon is looking good these days thanks to the EPIC DH'ers, let's see who else we can rope in...

Think you already said something Sean... Really sorry to miss that spin :( The new bike woulda loved the Wocas as much as me I'd say. Took my dad on a lovely spin around the Phoneix Park made uber extreme by the dodging of hundreds of people.

Roll on next weekend!

P.S. Anybody up for a DH race? Was looking at the pics from the Moneyscalp one and it looks like deadly craic, everything rollable,so easily done on the XC steed I think..

Tom,
You're a legend....
Tell me, had you really drunk your entire 3L Camelbak dry and moved onto the bottle which you lost by that stage, or was it a ploy to score some of my go-faster juice?
If you were dry by that stage, I had taken in only 400ml of liquid, compared to your 3L?
I made it home without actually feeling like I'd done anything more than ride to the shops :-)
There was far too much stopping on that spin for it to count as "One for the budding racers trying to get their fitness and stamina up." But I'm saying nothing.

Sean

Well what can i say, i started of the day having to walk up most of the way to the aerials on 3rock as i just felt really weak for some reason (was having deluded thougts that i was going to drop dead there on the spot , I could see the front page news, photos of loads of chicks crying and the headlines-Sexy Tom Drops Dead) and later doctors would have recognised from the post mortem that i was a miracle of human endeavour to have been even standing let alone biking, with the undiagnosed ********..whatever illness i imagined myself to have)....

Eenyway back in the real world- somehow i got up to the rocky route leading to the woca wocas and let rip and felt a hell of a lot better, even popping some uncharacteristic air, oisin was hot on my tail and the rush of adrenalin left us grinning big time!..

Then paddy changed his tube and we hit for prince willies, cue laborious climbing( happy sean and chris) we then hit down the other side, and were hitting about 50kmh on the fireroad, according to cormacs digi thing. Suddenly a rough braking area into a bend sent mo/e? into the bank and his wheel into a hoop, he escaped relatively unscathed, after dabbling in some blacksmithing and in true sporting spirit he soldiered on.

The next few k's are a bit of a blur but we got to ride some savage singletrack -XTC and some other one...Sean (AKA mother superior) dished out some charlie to keep us all pepped up, while refuelling outside enniskerry gave us all a much needed burst of energy for the trudge home, which was not too bad all things considered...

A great days biking, well done all and thanks for the company a real good group of guys,...The weather played its part in things by staying dry, and i didn't mind waiting for the slower guys climbing, sometimes i even hung around near the back just to keep morale up ; )
