Will try not to repeat what was said too much but that was some day out... MAD really are becoming the club to be in!! Really proves the Ireland's Premier Mountainbike Club phenomum.

Huge thanks to Paddy and the other supporters as well as Tom and his helpers for doing the feed station. As Ryan and Fergal said, we owe you guys BIG! Much appreciated and great job.

After Seán re-mentioning the idea about hoodies, I think we should do something about it. If people mail me if they would like one presuming the quality is good, price is cheap and they look cool. I can send out a few mails requesting quotes with some numbers.Mail to : stephen_scrivener@yahoo.co.uk

It was a brilliant day out, the MAD contingent had one of the greatest showings, our jerseys seemed to be everywhere,...

Again i'd like to say despite the rocky slab being removed from sports it was a real mountain-bike race, a great track that tested all aspects of a rider's abilites but gave no specific type of rider a huge advantage.

I thoroughly enjoyed my race, and well done to our podium finishers, Oisin and Scrivo, Also Ryan fair play to you for doing 5 laps at a race tempo, impressive stuff.

To all the guys who we helped out with bottles and gels you are more than welcome, its great to be able support our own club members in anyway.

And thanks to our stealth-like photographer who seemed to pop out of the bushes when you least expected..I would be pedalling along in the quieter parts of the track when I'd hear my name being called, after much searching of my surroundings I'd barely see Paddy as he was camouflaged against the background....the photos will be interesting....: )...
To sum it up,
A great day!

That seemed like a great race and a savage track there yesterday. The look of death on the faces of so many people as they came around on their final laps testified to that.

Made me bloody jealous i can tell ye.

And a big well done to the lads on their podium positions yesterday and to ryan for a brilliant perfomance in the elites.

I was on the 2x caffeine Powerbar Double Latte gels, thought I was in Starbucks for one deluded moment....

per Oisins point, it'd be could to differentiate the mechanicals DNFs versus too-knackered-and-dropped-out DNFs.....

The Feed stations are critical for anything longer then the sports... Especially yesterday when 3 laps was already a very long race! Those jells saved me on the last lap.

That was a real challenge - experts is a big step up from sports! I learned a lesson that mid-race energy drinks and food are vital cause I didn't have any so I bombed on the last lap. Live and learn.
My goals for the race were to complete it and not come last. Well I completed it and although I came last out of those who completed it many people dropped out so I'm still pleased with my performance. Looking forward to the next one!

that was an excellent day out yesterday, such a brilliant track!

I suffered on the 3rd lap with cramps but the pure fun and exhilaration of such a deadly track kept me going, Masters is a big jump from Sports but I enjoyed the extra suffering

big thanks to the "Energy Source" aka Tom and his young helpers for keepin' the go-go juice flowing...

'Big up' to Steve and Oisin getting their fancy awards for third place in Juniors and Sports - great performances lads, and Ryan on his first foray into Elites - man - 5 laps of that! the mere thought of it turns my legs to jelly....
all my gear is still in a muddy molded heap in the car - just didn't have the energy to do anything when I got home but phone-in a takeaway and open the beers I had in the fridge---ohhhhh...they tasted good!

That was a great day of racing! I don't think I have ever been so tired after a race... I think the Marathon champs last year was a walk in the park in comparison to that. The course was great (apart from all the evil sticky muck on the climbs) and I don't think there was a person that didn't come away buzzing from it... (Well, some people, including myself, might have been too tired to be buzzing). The track was amazing and I really can't call a flaw on any of it. Well done to our two podium lads! Lets hope there will be lots more of them this year :)

It was great to see so many MAD jerseys out racing – as we all said last year, the kit really does look great.

Lastly, I'd like to send out a billion thank yous to Tom and Shane (please correct me if anyone else was helping – I was a bit zonked to notice at the time!) for doing the feed station. For a race that length it's just so important and it is a HUGE HUGE help when I'm out racing. I really can't say anything to show how much I really appreciated it!

Anyway – I'm off to collapse into bed!
