MAD May weekend biking activities

Well now,
This weekend we have 2 spins on Saturday:

10am at Leadmines being organised by Martin, meet at:Palmers Golden Ball pub

4pm spin up 3 rock being led by Barry, meet at Taylors pub

I’ll be foraging through the undergrowth once again searching-out new trails
at 10am up 3 rock until approx 2pm, anyone who wants to join me is most welcome, call me on 087-792-7730.

My plan is to create a longer/alternate route from the new section (christened “rock-n-roll”). This route will meet-up with an existing trail which in turn will lead to the large lower section of forest.
Tools required are mainly loppers and rake, Lidl may still have some cheap loppers in stock.

On Sunday we have the 2nd round of the NPS XCO league in Ballinastoe.
No details received as yet about the race, but once I do get any info, I’ll post it at Irish XC MTB website.

Hope to see ye out at some stage

Fergal

    Hi,

If anyone has any car space on Sunday, myself (Tallaght/BallymountM50) and Ryan & Mel (Dundrum) are all looking for lifts.

Any help greatly appreciated by all.

    Cheers,
    Sean

    All

I can provisionally give lifts on Sunday to 2 people but as race information is a bit thin on the ground I’m going to wait until tomorrow around 6 to say yay or nay.

I don’t think it was me unless you drive a red taxi or a black BMW in which case I’m very sorry for the blaring of horns and hand gestures…

    Hurrah for new shorts!!

Not sure of today’s placing in the B’stoe NPS but both Shane and Inga scored 3rd places so great racing there!!
Well done to eveyone else who raced
    - wow, there was a serious amount of punctures, mechanicals, and blood-letting, nearly glad I missed it!!

Me like an eejit thought it was all over when people started heading off, but they actually had the results available so they did the prize giving etc…sorry Inga!
Heard there was some dispute re; incorrect Sports results but we’ll wait on Andy Potts official report/results and see what the craic was.

I was bottle boy for the day with a broken bike :-)

Rob H, Robb and myself got some good work done on Saturday up 3 rock extending the new MAD trail, a small bridge needs to be built but pretty much all of the rest of it is finished - looking forward to a spin on it soon!!
