More hillclimbing on Sunday - up Kilmashogue this time. Sean and Noel set a blistering pace from the start, with the rest of us just trying to keep up. It’s an easier climb than Fairy Castle - fire road all the way, so you just have to put your head down and keep pedalling. In theory. You can see the times here. Also, thanks to Oisin we have a profile of Saturdays climb.

After everyone had made it to the top (after a bit of a detour…) we carried on along the Wicklow Way, down the Woccas and up over Tibradden. The climb up is totally eroded now - I’m not sure if it’s possible to ride up cleanly. From there we climbed through Cruagh (leaving Cait and Nigel here) and over the Featherbeds (totally waterlogged). Finally, after a sprint down Military Road we headed to Masseys for a climb to the top and a fast descent to finish off. Tired legs heading home…

A strong headwind and flappy shorts held me back a bit, so should knock at least 10 seconds off my next run, which will be in full lycra…

I’d say that was a fun race.

The DH seeding runs in Rostrevor today were unbeleivable, mud flowed like that river in Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory.
Steve smashed his last remaining hanger (the other on Friday) on a landing.
He was very vexed, looks like I’ll be MADs’ sole rep tomorrow.
More of the same tomorrow, oh no……

Lovely sunny spin today. The hill climb was hard work - I think we can all improve a bit on that. You can see the times here. We checked out the new trail too - the TTOT is like nothing I’ve ever seen….
