MAD Dixie Dash Round 3
Ok Dix and Dixettes,
A generous amount of destruction and bloodshed was visited upon 3rock last week,
so it’s time for some more cheap fast thrills - be at Fairycastle at 7:15 pm Tues 4th Sept- race starts sharp at 7:30.
Bring your lights as it’s getting dark in some of those forest sections.
I’ll post the route map later tonight - this week we won’t be taking the descent at the edge of the forest,
we’ll be heading straight across from 2 rock to the path, turning left then heading in the direction of the aerials
We’ll likely be doing a full run of the new MAD club course, and out of there and into the freeride zone
and the usual finish down the fast ferny trail which has up-ended a few of us in the past so hopefully more of the same.

Another Dixie Done and Dusted ! Finished intact for most people too I think. And I got across the M50 with no delays, all in all a great end to a crappy day! Thanks all!

A brutal turnout tonight but those who turned up and raced had a great rip
a heavy mist had moved in on Fairycastle just before the start and to my sheer delight I found I brought the bar mount instead of helmet mount for my light
a few quick nibbles on an emergency carrot sorted the peepers and off we went.
Across to 2 rock it was Karl and Greg in front with me behind them, followed by Nigel, Conor, Flan and MAD Micheal (the lad who completely wrecked himself last week had come back for more)
Onto the path Karl opened a good lead, with Greg on a hefty dh rig tearing along giving me a hard time trying to catch him
The sharp right for the aerials caught Karl out and I managed to slip ahead and hang onto it the rest of the way
We thought Micheal had impaled himself somewhere or was off wrestling deer but he finally freewheeled it down with a double-knotted chain
fair play to those who turned up, this weeks reward was Jaffa-centred tea cakes - yeah - ye missed it - they were lovely
