Trailbuilding for Club Champs: Sat 17th Nov
New section added by Richie and Fergal today - think we’ll call it “satellite run” after the dish we found there:
It’s just down from the upper aerials, veer into the right as you approach the large aerial and over the hump and into the left.
We did some work on an existing section just down from this new section - cleared the trail a bit and added some hardcore in soft areas.
If anyone is looking to do some trailbuilding over the weekend - the lower trail could do with some more hardcore in the muddy areas, also the “satellite run” trail could do with some hardcore added just near the end of the singletrack where it soft/muddy.
Howdy all,
Part 2 of our trailbuilding escapades sees us prepaing a course section for our Club Champs. Appreciate if you can make it out for a few hours, we got a great two sections done the last time so hopefully we’ll add another option or two to the list.
Tools:
Mostly strong/yard brushes and rakes.
Spade, loppers also useful.
I’ll be up there from approx 9am
Put a post here or text me on 087-792-7730 if you can make it out
Thanks
Fergal

Hopefully numbers don’t get out of control and we’ll be able to accommodate everyone, but to avoid any last minute backlogs let us know now that you’ll be there on the day:)..

I’m not totally sure yet Conor - but we’ll be bringing up any wood that is at the gate to MADjestic area, and also doing a bit of tidy-up on rock n roll for a start
after that, there’s 2 other trails I’d like to do - they don’t have names as yet, but once we see how many people are out we can decide how much we can get done.

there’s a section where I’d like to attempt some sort of switchback-type carry on - I have all these ideas in my head - though it’s often a different story when I actually see the amount of work needed!

ok, so no wood was brought up and rock n roll wasn’t touched instead me made a great BRAND NEW trail, this will be called “CrossMax” and also did a really nice polish-up of an existing one.
Huge thanks to Micheal, Ciaran, Ben, Nigel (McConnell) for some top notch trail building, really looking forward to taking a spin on it.
Remember the name folks :
CrossMax
- brought to you by the MAD trailbuilders!
