MAD Club Champs 2008

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

This year’s MAD Club Champs takes place on Saturday the 6th of December. The venue is the Blue Light Pub where we’ll meet at 10am and head into the nearby trails for tests of strength and skill (Fergal has been busy laying out an awesome course). After this we’ll retire to the Blue Light for a review of the past year, the awarding of trophies and the election of the club committee for 2009.

MAD Club Champs 2008

Current, past and prospective MAD members are welcome to come along - as are our favourite riders from other clubs. The dress code is: sickening. As MAD enters it’s 20th year of existence we want you to wear your most offensive jersey from the 80’s and 90’s (you can find a lot of them here). The more garish the better.

That evening the fun-times will continue in the Market Bar on Fade St. We have tables booked for 8pm.  Wear your drinking pants and your dancing shoes.

MTB Training Courses

Friday, November 21st, 2008

It’s not every day you get private coaching from a World Cup level cross country and downhill rider but with Niall Davis’ training days you can.
Niall is a top three Irish international cross country rider who has spent the last summer running guided rides with partner Tarja Owens (herself a World Cup level female former pro and multiple Irish national champion) in picturesque Lake Garda.
Their company, All Mountain Experience has been a huge success and Niall and Tarja have
decided to share their knowledge by running training courses in the Winter season in Ireland.

Courses are run every weekend at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels with a maximum group of 8 for the first two groups and 4 for the advanced class.
The emphasis is on fun, this is not school after all but rather it is about furthering your confidence and skills on a mountain bike.
See posters below for details or email Niall or Tarja for details.

Sean

MAD are running Round 2 of the Supercross Cup this weekend in Tymon Park, Tallaght. The race takes place in the North part of the park and promises to be a fast and technical course with a good run-up along the way.

The underage race will begin at 12 noon, with races for all Senor categories at 1pm. Mountainbikes are welcome to take part.

Thanks to all the MAD members who have volunteered to assist at the race. If you haven’t been given a job for the day why not come along and spectate or even give the race a go - this will be an ideal introduction for anyone planning on racing next year.

A four-race cyclocross series for Dublin has just been announced. Round one is this weekend in Corcaigh Park. MAD will be running round 2 in Tymon Park next week.

MTBs are welcome to take part in the races and these events would also be ideal for anyone wanting to give off-road racing a try for the first time.
